Most of the trousers in our range are cut from one of two cloths: linen, or a stretch cotton twill. They look close on screen and behave differently in wear. Here is the short version.
Linen
Linen has a natural hand and a matte, slightly uneven surface. It breathes, which is the point in warm weather, and it creases — that is the fabric working, not a fault. Our linen trousers are 100% Linen; the composition is printed on the product page.
- Best for: heat, holidays, relaxed offices.
- Care: gentle machine wash cold or dry clean, warm iron while slightly damp for a crisp finish.
- Expect: soft creasing through the day. It falls out when the trousers hang overnight.
Stretch cotton twill
Twill is woven with a diagonal line, which gives it body and a cleaner drape. Ours carries a small share of elastane — typically 68% Cotton, 29% Polyester, 3% Elastane — so it holds its line without feeling stiff and gives a little when you sit down.
- Best for: the office, travel, days that run long.
- Care: machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, do not bleach, warm iron while slightly damp.
- Expect: much less creasing than linen, and a slightly heavier feel.
How to choose
If you want one pair that works from a desk to dinner, take the twill. If you dress for heat and don't mind a lived-in surface, take the linen. Both are cut on the same clean, straight leg, so the fit will feel familiar either way — the fabric is what changes.
Fibre content and a size chart sit on every product page, and our pieces run true to size. If you are between sizes, take the larger one.
